The ANASAZI Foundation

The ANASAZI Foundation has forever changed my life.

Me, working as a TrailWalker at ANASAZI.

The ANASAZI Foundation is a wilderness therapy program for troubled youth (13-17) and struggling young adults (18-25). ANASAZI offers a 42-day, wilderness-based, residential treatment program and outpatient services rooted in the belief that all people—regardless of their struggles or at-risk choices—possess an inherent “seed of greatness.” This idea permeates ANASAZI’s philosophy and its effects are life-changing.

The primary mission of ANASAZI is to prepare parents and children to turn their hearts to one another, begin anew and walk in harmony in the “wilderness” of the world.

I started working as a TrailWalker at ANASAZI in 2007. That marked a turning point in my life. ANASAZI rejuvenated my soul. I often describe this period of my life as if I had just started seeing color for the first time.

The simple principles taught at ANASAZI (the fundamental belief in a Creator, Forwards and Backwards Walking, having a new beginning, a Heart at War and a Heart at Peace and the Seven Paths of the ANASAZI Way) can, and have changed the lives of thousands of participants. I am constantly amazed by the caliber of the staff and the miracles which take place in the ANASAZI wilderness on a daily basis. More than that, I marvel at the healing which takes place in the families that participate in ANASAZI.

For these reasons and more, I have quietly pledged in my heart to consistently support ANASAZI. I hope and pray that you too will discover the peace and joy that comes from living the ANASAZI way.

The basic idea is good, yet feel that God should be the center….

I wish EVERYONE had the chance to go to ANASAZI (to either work or to be a part of the program). It was, quite literally, the best place that I’ve worked at.
