Help stop 9 BILLION TONS of toxic waste in Alaska…
When I was twelve, I used to be a lot like Chunk from the movie The Goonies, “I’m not afraid of the dark. I like the dark. I love the dark. But I hate nature. I hate nature!” I stayed indoors, played computer games, and loathed scout camps or anything to do with the “great” outdoors.
But ever since my time as a TrailWalker at ANASAZI, I have rediscovered a deep love an appreciation for nature. I say ‘rediscovered’ because I was born in Anchorage, Alaska and lived there for the first eight years of my life. And for a young boy, there is no better playground than the Alaskan wilderness.
When I revisited Alaska in 2009, my love for that pristine, and beautiful wilderness was only reconfirmed (something I tried to show in the video I made below):
Given my love for the beautiful Alaskan frontier, imagine my dismay when I learned about the proposed mine Pebble Mine near Bristol Bay. Please watch this short video to learn more about Pebble Mine.
I am adamantly against the proposed Pebble Mine in Alaska. To get involved or show your support for Bristol Bay, please visit http://www.savebristolbay.org
