Politics Are My Favorite Sport!
Romney and Obama—to the death!
Apart from running marathons, I’m not really into sports. They just don’t hold my attention. It feels like the same thing over and over and over again. I always laugh at those post-game interviews with coaches or team members. It’s all the same! “Yeah, well…we just gotta work on our defense.” “Well you know, we just pulled together as a team and went out there and gave it our best.” “I think if we just up our offense, we’ll do a lot better.”
Yawn.
Now American politics, there’s a sport! Rhetoric, statistics, battleground states, secret video tapes, primary challenges, soft media questions, hard media questions, gotcha journalism, passion, gaffes and the political fate of nations! Yes! That’s a game worth watching!
So I’m looking forward to the final debate Monday night. It will be fist fight of rhetorical excellence! A battle of wits to the political death!
I will be eating popcorn and possibly be wearing face paint.
