Seth Adam Smith

on a literal odyssey

Joseph Smith

In 2006, while working with former Church History instructor and author Paul Thomas Smith, I came across a little-known account of Joseph Smith’s last dream. The account was recorded by W. W. Phelps, who rode with the Prophet on his way to Carthage Jail.

I was so deeply touched by the symbolism, prose and prophetic power of the dream that I wanted to share it with others. I went to the LDS Archives and obtained a digital copy of the original documents, interviewed several individuals and commissioned an artist to create an original painting of the dream.

On June 23rd, 2011, almost five years after first reading the dream, I finally published this video of Joseph Smith’s Last Dream.
