Because of Him

Some friends of mine helped put together this awesome video for Easter. I really love it. Be sure to read the text below the video.

Heaven was His throne and earth His footstool (Acts 7:49)—and yet at Bethlehem there was no room for Him, no crib for His bed.

He was the creator of the world and yet stated that the “Son of Man hath not where to lay his head.” (Matthew 8:20)

He commanded the waters, the weather and the land, yet on Calgary He asked for a cool refresh of water and was given vinegar “mixed with gall” instead. (Matthew 27:34)

He who healed the ten lepers asked the returning one, “where are the nine?” (Luke 17:17)

He taught eternal truths in His own home town and they responded “Is not this Joseph’s son?” They grew so offended they took Him up on a hill to “cast him down headlong.” (Luke 4)

To those of His own family Matthew recorded: “they were offended at Him.” (Matthew 13:57)

He beckoned to Jerusalem saying “how often would I have gathered thee!” (Matthew 23:37) and they responded with “Crucify Him!” (John 19:6)

He lived the admonition “greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends,” (John 15:13) and was betrayed to His death by a kiss from a friend. (Mark 14:44)

He who said that “the Father hath not left me alone,” (John 8:29) cried out in agony “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)

He who was the meekest and lowliest of all took the bitterest cup without becoming the least bit bitter.

He, Jesus Christ hath descended below it all—and hath triumphed over all.
