For over twenty years, I have struggled with the darkness of chronic depression. This struggle has taught me many things, not the least of which is the power of light in the midst of terrible darkness. Just as scientists struggle to define light as one particular thing, I believe that light in life takes many different forms: acts of kindness, inspiring music, good food, beautiful art, and words—most especially words. For while medicines can heal the body, enlightened words can heal the soul.
To one degree or another, we all struggle with darkness, so it’s important to seek the light. For this reason, I have started The Northern Lights, a bi-weekly newsletter designed to be “a light in the wilderness.” Click on the image below to subscribe to my newsletter and receive emails filled with inspirational and uplifting content.
